The most common form of online cheating is player collusion, where two or more players reveal their hand to each other. Playing online allows players to communicate on the phone, in person, or with another computer.

Also be wary of bots - software that plays instead of a real human are another known form of cheating.

Online poker cheats can do significant damage. Two scandals in August of 2007, where Absolute Poker's software code was cracked by a former employee, resulted in $1.6 million in refunds to its players.

Still, never accuse anyone of cheating. Either contact the poker room's administrators or simply stop playing at the table.
