A subcategory of poker games under tourneys is the invitational kind. The winners of the satellites would be given invitations, another term for these tourneys is the freeroll. One main difference between a tournament and a ring game concerns the antes and blinds. The blinds/antes of ring games are fixed, while those in tourneys, they rise as the contest moves on.
